Who am I ?

I am a spoken word artist specialising in themes of human nature, identity and the self. My short stories, journalism and poetry have been published in various anthologies, magazines and books and I'm currently compiling my first collection of flash non fiction due for publication in early 2014. In 2012 I was awarded the Rising Stars Performance Poetry Award and spoke at the Mix Conference on the theme of ‘Digital Media and Poetry.’ In between performances I teach creative writing in a variety of forms, programme poetry for The Wandering Word Collective and Co Direct the Youth Programme for a California based organisation Applied Theater Action Institute. I also run the prestigious Bristol Hammer and Tongue and have helped host and coordinate events for Refugee Rights, Amnesty International and St. Paul's Carnival. I received a First Class Honours Degree in The Study of Religion and Creative Writing and have an intense love of black coffee, the Deep South and some dope dance moves.
